The strongest 12 startups from 106 applicants have been chosen in NAP4 by EstBAN

Time passes fast, and since the Nordic Angel Program ends at the end of this year, the individual programs in each countries are working hard to keep up with the speed. Last Monday, NAP by EstBAN batch 4 investors witnessed and questioned the TOP12 teams running for the NAP4 by EstBAN investment. 

The 12 teams were chosen from 106 applicants from mostly Nordic region and represented very versatile fields of operations. In TOP12 companies there were startups whose target market is the US and for some at the other end the world. There are software and hardware companies catering legal, HR, fintech, foodtech and impact areas. And, as a bonus – most of these companies also have at least 1 female founder.

The TOP12 companies in an alphabetical order are: 

Amio – connects software to messengers, web chat, and SMS to help you engage and retain your customers.
Avokaado – intelligent contract automation tool.
BugBox Ltd – mass rearing & production technology to produce protein powder & other sub products from edible insects. 
CareMate – provides a P2P platform that connects care seekers and certified caregivers who offer quality services.
Flok – the next-generation low power wide area network GPS tracker that is meant for tracking valuable belongings & family members.
GDPR Register – compliance tool for privacy experts.
Geneto – a personal medicine company that helps people to lose weight and prevent lifestyle diseases.
guavaHR – a digital employee engagement and communication tool built for companies with lots of frontline employees.
HUGO.legal – AI-powered marketplace for legal services. 
10 MySpotit –  an application that makes finding venues and rooms easier.
11 PayQin – PayPal for the unbanked.
12 Pulse & Fidelity – developing a wireless audio amplifiers for home usage that can be placed behind the speakers.

Now the tough task for the 40+ investors led by Ivo Remmelg and Priit Rohumaa, is to select the strongest 4-5 startups for the due diligence process which will take place over the next few weeks. The final pitch of TOP4 companies is on December 5 in Club of Different Rooms, when the investors from the Nordics come together to learn, share experiences and best practices and the Estonian group will announce the company chosen as the investment target.
